Montepulciano, Tuscany
We finally made our way to the Montepulciano region of Tuscany!
Standing high atop a hill in southern Tuscany not too far from Siena, Montepulciano is a medieval town of hidden beauty. The city was full of elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, charming squares and hidden corners!
Piazza Grande is the heart of Montepulciano, and a walk through Montepulciano is the best way to view the town and its beautiful landmarks (as well as enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside covered by vineyards producing the famous Nobile)!
Oh how we enjoyed tasting our way through this town! Our favorite stop while in Piazza Grande was the Vini de Toscana Sapori di Montepulciano wine shop. This was a romantic and cozy spot to relax and taste an assortment of delicious wines!
