Melbourne Zoo

MELBOURNE ZOO
AUSTRALIA

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE ZOO

Wow what a day we had! This zoo was unlike any other we have ever seen. The amazing variety of animals on display made us glad to have taken the time to stop in and enjoy another beautiful day in Melbourne. We started off in the Australia section, which was home to Kangaroos, Wallabies, Koalas, and yes even the hard to spot Platypus!!! As Anthony always says these animals are one of a kind! The Platypus is one of five mammals to be classified as a Monotreme, which means they lay eggs instead of giving live birth to their young. While they may seem all cute and cuddly the male platypus actually have a spike behind their legs that they use to kick and poison their pray or attackers.

From there it was off to Africa, which housed lions, zebras, giraffes and elephants just to name a few! Then it was off to Asia where we enjoyed a nice stir fry lunch before seeing tigers and all types of primates! And of course at the end we went to our favorite section, which was the aquarium section!! We got to see seals, penguins and even pet the sting rays! After a full day of fun in the sun we were finally able to watch the sunset at St. Kilda Beach before heading home!!

This zoo was defiantly one of Anthony's favorites :)

Stay Tuned,

Nicole
