PORT LINCOLN, AUSTRALIA BOUND

"The Tuna With His Mouth Open Eating The Bait!"

G'day Mates From Port Lincoln, Australia:

Port Lincoln is the "Seafood Capital of Australia."

Port Lincoln is a city in the Australian state of South Australia and is a costal city on Boston Bay.

Port Lincoln is a beautiful fishing town.  Once we arrived we decided to get on a boat and sail into the ocean!

We decided to go swimming with the Tuna!

Once we got to our destination the boat docked and we hurried to pull on a wetsuit, snorkel, gloves and fins!  We then dove into the salty waters of Australia to hand feed and swim with one of the fastest fish in the world, the Blue Fin Tuna!

Along with tuna we saw an abundance of beautiful colored fish!  Before I share with you our exciting encounter with the tuna, I must tell you of our terrifying encounter.

Picture you are in open water swimming in a tuna pin.  A tuna pin is basically a giant net in the middle of the ocean housing hundreds of tuna.  Well, you are in the waters of Australia ... in the middle of the ocean ... surround by only a net...
when all of a sudden you see a GREAT WHITE SHARK IN THE DISTANCE!

YES... WE SAW A GREAT WHITE SHARK IN THE DISTANCE & NOT INSIDE A CAGE!!!

Lets just say I panicked because I was not expecting to feel like I was on Shark Week, the only difference is when I watch Shark Week I am cozy and on LAND!  Tomorrow is the day we decided to be crazy enough to get into a cage with a Great Whites, not today!

Anyways, once we overcame the Great White in the distance who swam away we enjoyed hand feeding the tuna.  They were MASSIVE, weighing about 180 pounds!  This was an absolutely amazing experience.

We will post videos of feeding the tuna soon! Oh, and stay tuned for the next blog ... I would say it's a little more like Shark Week!

Cheers From the Land Down Under,

Nicole & Anthony
