AND THE WINNER OF THE HORSE JUMP IS….

What a day, full of so many activities! In the morning we had a wine tasting at Mills Reef Winery. Mills Reef Winery was established in 1989 by the Preston family, and has established itself as one of New Zealand's premium labels. My favorite taste of the day was the Pinot Noir!

The tasting was very relaxing full of many delicious wines and interesting facts. We were later told that the Winery was going to hold the World Cup Horse Jumping Competition (only New Zealand Riders) , later that evening! We have never been to such an event, and thought it would be an amazing experience to immerse ourselves in their culture. Horse jumping, is a very popular sport in the Bay of Plenty region. So after wine tasting, we decided to enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the beach before the horse jump competition!

The beach was wonderful, once again full of such beauty! We decided to explore the beach and found a little section of the beach empty! Enjoy the picture of our hidden discovery :)

After enjoying the beautiful beach, we made our way back to Mills Reef Winery where we enjoyed our first Horse Jump Competition over a cold bottle of Mills Reef's Sauvignon Blanc. What an interesting event, full of New Zealander's from all over! The horses were beautiful, of all colors and sizes. They jumped with beauty and grace, making sure they did not knock down their obstacles. It was an extremely fun event! What an opportunity!

The sun doesn't set until 10PM here so we decided to enjoy the hotels infinity pool that was made over the ocean, before dinner. The pictures speak for themselves!

Well, we are off for dinner and cannot wait until Hamilton!

Stay tuned,

Nicole

  1. It's great to continue with these relaxing activities!

Unbelievable that in New Zealand you were drinking PiƱa Colada, the official beverage of Puerto Rico which was created in the bar of the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan. It continues to be one of my favorite cocktails.
