SKY TOWER!
Auckland's Sky Tower was a truly captivating experience, at 328 metres, it is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand. It offered breaktaking views, for up to 80 kilometers in every direction!
I was a little nervous as we traveled up in the all glass lifts (elevators) to one of the three spectacular viewing platforms (The Observatory, The Sky Lounge, and the Orbit).
We had reservations to dine at Orbit (inside the Sky Tower)- Auckland's only 360-revolving restaurant. First we went up the the Main Observation floor, where we enjoyed the magnificent views of Auckland! We were able to see about 80 kilometers of the city, from every direction. It was absolutely breathtaking as we saw the ocean, boats, buildings, houses, mountains, etc! We were even able to lay on the floor which was only made from glass (well Anthony did… I was too scared so the most I did was step on it). Once we finished enjoying the beautiful view we made our way to the Sky Lounge, for a few cocktails before dinner. The Sky Lounge was also all glass and so high up that we continued to see the beautiful city of Auckland, New Zealand. Finally, we made our way to the Orbit for dinner!
The Orbit was an incredible experience since we were about 300 meters above the ground, dined in an all glass room, rotated every 30 minutes, and enjoyed a delicious three course meal with an amazing bottle of Merlot made in New Zealand! My favorite was the lamb, one of New Zealand's signature meals!!! WOW, WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!
After dinner, we enjoyed the rest of the night at the Casino!!!! Oh, we also played the lotto…. so keep your fingers crossed! LOL
