We spent a wonderful weekend in Australia's famous Yarra Valley for some fun and beautiful scenery! We did a wine winetasting at 5 vineyards and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Mandala. Yarra Valley is the name given to the region surrounding the Yarra River in Victoria, Australia. The Yarra Valley has a delicious and thriving wine industry since it has a relatively cool climate, making its' specialties in chardonnay, pinot noir, and sparking wine.
We had a fun group! It was six of us… two newly weds (from Melbourne, Australia) and two elderly women (the funniest women we have ever met!). We had a great time together, but I don't think we will ever forget Terri and Elizabeth, two women born and raised in Melbourne… they made me laugh so hard tears literally ran down my face. They were hilarious and their life stories were absolutely inspiring! I think their favorite was the "American Anthony" (as they loved to call him) since they even asked him for a picture, and said they had a "nephew-in-law" from America who married their niece and now lives in Melbourne... who is their favorite of the family. To our surprise they said American men were very polite… that's the first time we hear such a thing here! LOL. Well, after a days worth of wine tasting from 9 AM - 5PM, I think you can say it was fun… the Aussie's really know how to have fun!
Oh… and guess what?! We saw KANGAROOS for the first time!!! They were running through the vineyards! That was an amazing site!!!
Yarra Valley was a great place!!!
