BREAKFAST & KAMARI BEACH: SANTORINI, GREECE

" Much Needed Morning Coffee "

" Good Morning From Santorini - Greece! "

" Black Sand!!!"

Kamari Beach
Santorini, Greece

Kamari is a coastal village on the southeastern part of the Aegean island of Santorini, Greece, in the Cyclades. This beach village is situated approximately 8 km away from the island's capital - Fira.

The village got its name from a small arch that still rises at the south end of its beach and is what remains from an ancient sanctuary dedicated to Poseidon. Today, it stretches along a beach covered with black sand, which is the longest of the island. This was the first time we had ever seen BLACK SAND!

  1. Once again I love seeing the flowers blooming in the Greek pottery.
Visiting a black sand beach is probably a unique experience. The black "sand" looks really unusual. To me it looks more like fine gravel than sand, and I am sure the beach is rocky. Certainly it is not for me, but I am sure it presents a great scenery which I would have enjoyed.

    Much love ,
    Baba
