PERISSA BEACH & BEAUTIFUL CHURCH: SANTORINI, GREECE

Church Of Timiou Stavrou:

Perissa Beach:

Church of Timiou Stavrou:

The Church of Timiou Stavrou is one of the largest churches on the island, Timiou Stavrou can be found in Perissa square. The original church, built during the period 1835 up till 1840, was destroyed by the 1956 earthquake and was later rebuilt.  We enjoyed this beautiful church tremendously.

Perissa Beach:

Perissa is one of Santorini's best beaches. It is located next to Emporio village & known as a long dark sand beach. A feature that makes Perissa unique (besides the crystal water and the smooth sand) is the fact that is the best protected beach from the summer Aegean winds (called "Meltemia" in Greek). Perissa lies right next to Profitis Ilias mountain, protected from the North. We enjoyed a delicious lunch on this unique beach!

A Great Afternoon,

Nicole & Anthony

  1. The photographs of the church are amazing. Its blue domes mixed up with the bright blue sky, the distinctive bell tower, and the simple but elegant iron grille gate bearing a delicate cross, are perfectly illustrated in these pictures.
Very lovely photos of the beach too.
