From The Waters of Thailand
We later rode out into the ocean on Thailand's traditional long-boats and headed to James Bond Island. This island was named after James Bond because of the movie The Man With The Golden Gun. This was the very island this movie took place on!
After we left James Bond Island, we stopped for lunch in a local Muslim Fishing Village. This Muslim Fishing Village stands in the middle of water! The entire town was built on stilts: the houses, restaurants, shops, temples, etc. Once we arrived we were seated with four others, in a circular table, to eat a typical Muslim lunch. It was quite an experience, something completely foreign to us. While I would love to tell you the name of all the delicious foods we tried, I didn't understand the names. What I can tell you is that we had a deliciously seasoned and cooked chicken, steamed rice and vegetables, shrimp and onion soup! Yum, our stomachs were satisfied!
