The Big Buddha Mountain Top
The phrase, Go - Go - Go, has become our newest motto. There is never a dull moment between us and our adventures. So once we confidently explored Old Town Phuket, inside and out, we made our way to see The Big Buddha at the top of the mountain. The drive to the Big Buddha was an experience in itself, as the views were spectacular. The elevated views of the extreme greenery of plant life and the bright turquoise blue of the ocean were magnificent. Not to mention, we saw tons of elephants climbing the mountain on our way up!
When we arrived to The Big Buddha I was given a sarong to wear, as a sign of respect for the holy temple. We enjoyed learning the history of The Big Buddha and his followers. It was an extremely humbling experience to be able to participate and learn a completely new form of worship, seen and practiced through out Asia. The beauty of this temple was apparent among its many remarkable characteristics, but our personal favorite was its placement at the top of the mountain. The Big Buddha, massive in size, was beautifully placed at the top of the mountain enabling worshipers to feel the fresh mountain breeze.
