G'Day We Made It
This morning we left for a five hour drive from Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers) Rock.
Ayers Rock is one of Australia's most recognizable landmarks and is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Oceania.
Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation that appears out in the middle of no where, in Central Australia. This wonder is 300 miles from the closest large town, Alice Springs. Uluru (Ayers) Rock reaches a peak of 1,142 feet.
The rock has great cultural significance for the Anagu people, the Aboriginal natives. The Aboriginals lead walking tours around the rock to share their past, history and dreamtime stories.
Anthony and I had the pleasure of getting to know the life stories of several Aboriginal artists, and even bought a few paintings. These paintings are absolutely stunning all hand painted, capturing the stories of their Aboriginal artists.
Stay tuned for more as we took on the challenging task of climbing to the top of the Uluru Rock, totaling three hours, and shared and amazing sunset together.
Life Is Beautiful,
Nicole & Anthony
