THE ROYAL TEMPLE BALI

Taman Ayun Temple is a Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire & is located in the Mengwi Village, Mengwi sub district, about 18 Km north side of Denpasar (where our flight landed). Enjoy this temple, it is one of our favorites, it's absolutely beautiful!

Good Morning From The Royal Temple

After our exquisite Balian breakfast, served to us on our heavenly patio (pictures posted on the previous blog), our driver picked us up.  It is safe to say in Bali, unless you are a local, do not rent a car!  The roads are narrow, there are no street lights and everyone drives at their own leisure!  Therefore the Balian's recommend, you hire a driver for the day to see the best spots in Bali, take them to lunch & get to experience Bali from the eyes of a local.  This was an absolute must, as our driver Putu has impacted our Bali experience in may ways.

Putu began our day by taking us a hour north, to our first destination, the Royal Temple  (Taman Ayun Royal Temple). Taman Ayun Temple is a Royal Temple of the Mengwi Empire and is set on the land, which is surrounded by an incredible fish pond.  This gorgeous temple has a multistoried roof, a common Balinese architecture.  Apart from the impressive architecture the garden was perfectly landscaped, adding to the the peaceful ambiance.

As we entered the temple we were awestruck since we have only seen such wonders in movies. We kept repeating, "can you believe this, we are in Bali admiring this magnificent temple?!" Not only did the temple bring us beauty, but it brought us peace.  It gave us an opportunity to listen to nature, admire the temple and meditate.  It was only us and the temple, we were at peace.

We enjoyed experiencing this new culture tremendously, I especially loved watching the young woman bring there offerings (usually followers or fruit accompanied with incence - you may have observed in the pictures above).

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.

Sorry for the delay in updating the blog, the wifi is limited & slow!  We are off to bed since we are waking up tomorrow at 5am for Yoga at the Yoga Barn.  Stay tuned for all the adventures that we have experienced & that are to come (they will be up soon)!

Peace and Love,

Nicole & Anthony
