PHI PHI ISLANDS, THAILAND: FIRST STOP

The Famous Phi Phi Islands
Our First Stop

The Phi Phi Islands are located in Thailand, between the large island of Phuket and the Western Andaman Sea coast of the mainland. The islands are administratively part of the Krabi province. Ko Phi Phi Don is the largest island of the group.  What to know a quick fun fact? The word " ko " means " island " in the Thai language.  Phi Phi Don was initially populated by Muslim fishermen during the late 1940s, and later became a coconut plantation. The Thai population of Phi Phi Don remains more than 80% Muslim. The actual population however, if counting laborers, especially from the north-east, from the mainland is much more Buddhist these days.

As you may have noticed from the pictures posted above of our first stop, these Islands are simply breathtaking.  The colors of the water, the giant limestone rocks and the luscious greenery create an incredible scenery.  At this first stop we jumped off the boat and into the warm waters of Thailand with a snorkel and fins.  We swan through the under water world, taking in the magnificent beauty.

Stay Tuned For Our Second BEAUTIFUL stop in the Phi Phi Islands.

The Beauty of The Phi Phi Islands,
